Anyone who lives in a dry climate legitimately is concerned about the possibility of fire. There is a lot that can be cone to help lower the risks of fire spreading. But nothing can fully protect you from the stupidity of arson. In this case it is believed to be kids who walked through the alley dropping matches or cigarettes as they went.
In this case, neighbors and strangers wielding garden hoses and rakes saved the neighborhood and had most of the five fires fully out even before the fire department arrived. These remains looks small, but with the wind Tucson was beginning to experience that evening, it was a recipe for disaster.
This shed the only building that suffered any damage.
The responses of neighbors overtook the wind whipped flames.
