Grandchildren are amazing, each in their own way. Yesterday we went to the river for the maiden voyage of the yellow canoe. A. was bought this badly injured canoe as a gift some time ago. Since then she learned how to make fiberglass repairs and did the work. Most of her day was spent on the water taking assorted family members aged 4 to 40 out for a cruise. The yellow canoe proved itself sound and all had a good time. A. is 14.

I like the yellow canoe. It looks great. That is more than I can claim on my repaired fiberglass canoe. I lashed it too tightly to the roof of my Cherokee and cracked the sides of the canoe. I repaired it, but it is ugly.
