Sleep

–verb (used without object)
1. to take the rest afforded by a suspension of voluntary bodily functions and the natural suspension, complete or partial, of consciousness; cease being awake.
2. Botany. to assume, esp. at night, a state similar to the sleep of animals, marked by closing of petals, leaves, etc.
3. to be dormant, quiescent, or inactive, as faculties.
4. to be careless or unalert; allow one's alertness, vigilance, or attentiveness to lie dormant: While England slept, Germany prepared for war.
5. to lie in death: They are sleeping in their tombs.

Sleep seems to be the one thing my body is requiring. Normally not a napper, naps are required. I call them nap attacks because they come on quickly and allow for no argument. By the time I fully clear my head from them, it is about time to go back to bed. The weather has been mild and not too hot as yet, so sleep is comfortable.

Sleep/rest is vital to the healing process. Some medical patients are put into a sleep state to allow healing. It makes sense if the body is craving sleep, it is healing to allow sleep to happen.
