It was early morning. Upon arising you could tell it was going to be a warm day and outside stuff should get done early. Out in the country, other than the sound of impact sprinklers watering the pastures and keeping down dust, it could have been a generation or two ago. On this farm the younglings rotate the chores with the adults filling in on as needed. This day, the oldest of the younglings, one already a young woman nearly grown, drew the chore of milking and made her way to the barn. I came around the corner and here she sits, bed head, jammy bottoms rolled up to her knees, and feet propped on the milking stand. Efficiently she is stripping Pearl of her daily contribution to the household while IPod ear buds deliver what ever is the audio of the moment.
Where is a camera when you need one?
