Running the Gauntlet

While in Whitstran Miss T and I began an exercise program I call "Running the Gauntlet". Ok, it was more like walking, but three times around was 1 mile of pretty rough terrain. The decision to run the gauntlet was made in part to get my circulation going again after being sedentary for most of the last year. Another piece was to add to Miss T's "Dog Whisperer" therapy program. More exercise and discipline in NOT being the pack leader. Both have helped her settle into a companion that others can be around without being overrun. My personal goal was to make it three times around. It took most a week of determination to finally make it that last circuit. The Gauntlet is rough hilly terrain where rocks and debris seem to grow up right in front of your feet, reaching out to see what they can snag. If one travels a straight line between points it involves a bit of rock scrambling and ditch hopping. Miss T completed the gauntlet carrying a backpack filled with canned goods to add intensity to her work out for the effect of a longer workout in a shorter distance. Her greatest difficulty was NOT jumping in the creek before released from work to play. After successful completion she got creek time, pool time, and dog pasture time before having to come in and become a throw rug for awhile.
