Whew... Take one solitary grandma and her dog. Add 5 people, two more dogs, horse, chickens, rabbits, two different schools hosting events for 3 different schools. And it's only been 4 days. Today is SKHS Band Car Wash; a fundraiser to send the marching band to Pasadena next year for the Rose Parade. This year they played in the Washington Macy's day after Thanksgiving day parade. SKHS has won so many times they were paid to come open the parade instead of coming to compete in order to give someone else a chance. Also featured today was a fundraiser for Burley School. A 5k run for the elementary school in which any one could participate but you paid a gate fee if you were not a student of the school. Josh, who had shown no real interest in training, did get a pair of running shoes (feet don't like running in skater shoes) came in 8th out of the entire field of kids and adults. He thinks he would like to participate in track and field at the Jr. Hi. next year.

Well, I kept thinking why haven't I heard from Linda since she corrected by Alice/Dorothy comment. Then I thought...ah ha....maybe I should read her blog site and immediately...or at least within in half an hour I was all caught up on your time since you left Osoberone74 and visited your sister.

Hope you get that swimming thing figured out. Sounds like your tracking skills are in good shape. You be careful though. Linda would be lost and very sad without you.

I'm guessing that whatever they'd charge for washing the motor home would be so exhorbitant (sp?) as to be completely out of the question for you... helpful to the cause, but not in the budget. Plus -- they'd probably be burnt-out on washing something so big, they wouldn't be much help on subsequent cars lined up for washing!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're getting to spend time and make memories together. With my folks in Oregon, we get one week out of the year together, and that just isn't enough.
My husband's mom is just a half hour away and all by herself, so for her sake (plus... would we survive Central Oregon winters?)... we remain here, close enough to her to be able to run over and fix her sprinklers & other plumbing, display a strong presence for prospective gardeners and contractors, and rides to the doctor/hospital, etc. We're all she has, so she needs us here!
And yes... you certainly have my permission to take a morning nap today -- you've earned it! (As have I, after my exhausting weekend at Camporee. Oh, but it was so fun!)
